The number · for whoever signs the cheque
The rest of the walkthrough is about the crew. This page is the arithmetic — not a quote, and not our figures. Set the sliders to your own traffic and check the result against your own car reports.
Try itMove the sliders to your monthly cars, your share past free time, and your tariff's daily rate. The annual figure updates as you drag.
Annual demurrage in play
$14,280 a month, across 42 cars.
What it costs
One platform, two ways to arrive. A railroad subscribes and brings every screen on this site with it. A plant or terminal can run the customer portal on its own — even if its railroad has never heard of us.
A single yard or short line, up to 5 locomotives. Everything you need to run today's work.
Where most railroads land — the training, safety and analytics this walkthrough showed.
Terminal roads, multi-yard operations, Class-I paperwork expectations.
Railroad tier pricing is quoted to the operation — yards, users, locomotives — and a walkthrough ends with your number on one page. Onboarding and data load are quoted flat, one time. No per-user charge stacked on top.
Where the sheet comes from
RailOps doesn't add a billing chore — the record falls out of the work. Every placement and release carries a timestamp because that is how the move was made, and the statement is those rows, sorted.
A car's dwell runs from the moment it is placed, because placing it is what the crew and the customer both did on screen. Nobody starts a timer; the move is the timer.
Demurrage statements come out per customer with every car, waybill and timestamp on the sheet — the document that ends arguments instead of starting them.
Your customer's board runs on the same rows your statement does, so the numbers were never apart to begin with. Most disputes die right there.
The calculator is arithmetic, not a promise — your tariff, your free time and your traffic decide the real figure. That is exactly why the sliders are yours.
